Helping the European ME Alliance Strengthen Its International Voice
Overview
Content Strategist & Communications Partner (2025–present)
The European ME Alliance (EMEA) operates at the intersection of healthcare, research, patient advocacy, and public policy. Representing people affected by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS) across Europe, the organisation works with researchers, clinicians, policymakers, patient groups, and international institutions to improve awareness, recognition, and support.
My role was to help transform complex medical, legal, and policy-related information into clear, accessible, and strategically aligned communication.
The challenge? Communicating highly technical and often sensitive topics to a wide range of audiences while maintaining credibility, consistency, and diplomatic positioning across multiple stakeholder groups.
Here's how I supported the organisation:
Refined executive presentations, advocacy documents, and strategic communications for international meetings, conferences, and policy discussions.
Developed and structured stakeholder surveys and consultation processes, improving clarity, accessibility, and participation.
Created content and communication systems that improved collaboration and reduced administrative complexity.
Produced content across social media, website communications, presentations, and advocacy materials.
Helped leadership communicate complex healthcare and policy issues in a way that was both persuasive and easy to understand.
Health advocacy requires more than accurate information. It requires communication that bridges gaps among patients, researchers, policymakers, and institutions. My role was to help create that bridge — turning complexity into clarity while ensuring every message remained credible, strategic, and aligned with the organisation's broader goals.
